This is the newest bolt on sports turbo turbocharger from Garrett in their GT28 lineup, called the GT2871R. This turbo is a step up from the very popular Disco Potato utilizing the same turbine section as the GT28RS; however, this turbocharger is utilizing a much more efficient 71mm compressor wheel.
Typical HP output is in the 340+rwhp range (400bhp) between 14-18psi with very good powerband, retains dual center ball bearing cartridge, and much more install friendly than the GT25R. The turbo itself comes with adjustable wastegate actuator good for 17-20psi of boost. Bolts on to stock manifold, turbo elbow and downpipe. The only thing needed is fabbing your own intake pipe to the turbo. While this turbo will make more hp, however like all larger turbos, you will have more lag.
This turbo is available in 2 different A/R. We highly recommend the smaller .64 A/R for street use. While you will make higher peak hp with the .86 A/R boost will take longer to come on (approximately 500-800 rpm slower), and bottom end torque will be sacrificed.
This turbo is a direct bolt on high performance GT series ball bearing turbo for the 2.0 litre SR20DET. Designed for 2.0 litre – 3.0 litre motors with potential for over 400 hp with the larger A/R.
